Kate Siepert

Kate Siepert - former Professional Development Tutor Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

Kate Siepert is a New York City–based actor and educator whose work bridges professional performance and high-level actor training.

She began her career in Chicago at the renowned iO Theater, performing as a house team member before training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (BOVTS), where she earned her MFA. She also holds a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Kate spent over 16 years working closely with BOVTS, playing a central role in the MFA Acting program. She first assisted in, and later oversaw, the audition process for incoming actors, helping to shape the selection of artists entering one of the world’s leading conservatory programs.  She also founded and developed the BOVTS MFA Alumni network, strengthening the ongoing connection between graduates and the school.

From 2018, Kate worked alongside Geoff Brumlik for eight years as the Professional Development Teacher for the MFA Acting Course. In this role, she created the program’s professional development curriculum and guided actors as they transitioned from training into the profession. Her work focuses on equipping actors with the practical tools, clarity, and resilience needed to build sustainable careers in a highly competitive industry.

In 2023, she co-created and produced the Engaging Shakespeare workshops with Geoff Brumlik—first in New York, and subsequently in Los Angeles and Chicago—bringing a conservatory-level approach to Shakespeare training to actors outside full-time programs. Together, they now run The Engaged Actor, which produces the Engaging Shakespeare masterclasses and provides coaching to actors worldwide.
